Healthy men and women needed for the study of a potential new treatment for ALS. You must be aged 18 to 65. If you're a woman able to have a baby, you must have an IUD or IUS fitted. Vegetarians and smokers of up to 5 cigarettes per day or equivalent are allowed, but you must refrain from smoking whilst on the ward. The study involves 3 nights’ residence on our wards, 2 outpatient visits and 1 follow-up. Group starting 22, 24 August and 15 September 2022.

People with summer hayfever caused by grass pollen needed for the study of a potential new medicine to treat the condition. You must be 18 to 65 years of age and have a BMI between 19 and 30 Kg/m2.  You must be a non-smoker/not have used nicotine containing products for at least 6 months. The trial involves 8 outpatient visits, over 12 weeks. Starts 27 Sep 2022 

£3,300 - healthy volunteers

Healthy people needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating the symptoms of schizophrenia. You must be aged 18 to 55, weigh more than 60 kg, have a BMI of 18 to 32, and not have used nicotine products for at least 3 months. If you're a woman able to have a baby, you must have an IUD or IUS. The study involves 1 session of 4 nights’ residence, 1 session of 11 nights’ and 1 follow-up. Starts 25 August 2022.

People with Parkinson’s disease needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating the condition. You must be aged 35 to 75 and have a BMI between 18 and 30.  If you're a woman and able to have a baby you must have an IUD or IUS fitted. Smokers of up to 5 cigarettes per week or equivalent are allowed. The study involves 17 nights’ residence on our wards and 2 outpatient visits. Groups starting 07 and 25 September 2022.

Healthy volunteers aged 18 to 65 needed for the study of a potential new treatment for chronic conditions. If you’re a woman able to have a baby, you must have an IUD, IUS or contraceptive implant. Vegetarians and smokers of up to 10 cigarettes per day (or equivalent) are allowed. The study involves 4 nights’ residence on our wards and 5 outpatient visits. Groups starting on 1, 5 and 7 September 2022

£3,250 in partial payments

People with mild to moderate plaque-type psoriasis needed for the study of a potential new medicine to treat the condition. You must be aged 18 to 65 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis for at least 6 months. Smokers of up to 20 cigarettes or equivalent per day allowed. It involves 1 session of 4 nights’ residence and 9 outpatient visits, over 3 months. Study ongoing and groups starting regularly.

People with stable cardiovascular disease and in general good health needed for the study of an experimental new medicine for treating high levels of Lp(a). You must be aged 18 to 70 years old and have a BMI between 18 and 45. We’ll first take a blood sample from you to check your levels of Lp(a). The trial involves 2 sessions of 3 nights’ residence on our wards and 10 outpatient visits, over 8 months. Study ongoing.

£5,200 + reasonable travel expenses

Asthmatics who are otherwise in general good health needed for the study of a potential new medicine to treat the condition. You must be aged 18 to 55 and not have used any nicotine products in the last year.  The study involves 2 screenings, 3 sessions of 2 days and 1 night’s residence on our wards, and 17 outpatient visits over approximately 9 months. Study ongoing.

People with Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating ITP. You must be aged 18 to 55 and must have been diagnosed at least 3 months ago. The study involves 2 screening visits, 8 nights’ residence and 7 outpatient visits over approximately 2 and a half months. Study ongoing.

£4,650 in partial payments

Healthy volunteers needed for the study of an experimental new medicine for treating C3 glomerulopathy, a rare kidney disease. You must be 25 to 65 years old, and not have used nicotine products in the last month. Vegetarians allowed. Women able to have a baby must have a contraceptive implant, IUD or IUS. It involves 2 screening/pre-vaccination visits,  3 nights’ residence on our wards and 6 outpatient visits. Study ongoing.

Healthy men needed for the study of ibogaine, a potential new medicine for treating the symptoms of drug withdrawal. You must be aged 18 to 55 and have a BMI between 18 and 28. You must have taken at least 1 hallucinogenic drug in the past. Light smokers are allowed. The study involves 3 screenings including one MRI scan, 7 nights’ residence on our wards, 3 phone calls and 1 follow-up visit. Groups starting 23 and 30 August 2022.

£3,700 + reasonable travel expenses

People with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) needed for the study of a potential new treatment to treat the condition. You must be 18 to 65 years old; Vegetarians and smokers are allowed. The study involves 2 screening visits, 1 session of 3 nights’ residence on our wards, 2 sessions of 2 nights' residence, and 13 outpatient visits over approximately 5 months. Groups starting regularly throughout 2022.

£4,000 - £4,060 + reasonable travel expenses.

People with mild or moderate asthma who use only a short acting reliever inhaler needed for the study of a potential new treatment for severe asthma. You must be at least 21 years old and, if you're a woman, you must be postmenopausal, sterilised or have an IUD fitted. The trial involves 2 screening visits, 5 sessions of 2 nights' residence, 2 outpatient visits and 1 night’s residence. Study ongoing.

Healthy volunteers needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treatment resistant depression. You must be 25 to 55 and never used psychedelic substances before. If you’re able to have a baby, you must have an IUD, IUS or ‘coil’. Postmenopausal, surgically sterilised, or women who have only same-sex relationships also allowed. The study involves 2 nights’ residence, 3 outpatient visits, and 1 video call. Groups on 11, 14, 15 and 16 August 2022. 

Healthy men needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). You must be 18 to 55 years old, weigh more than 50 kg and have a BMI between 17.5 and 30.5. Vegetarians and smokers of up to 5 cigarettes or 3 grams of tobacco per day are allowed. It involves 9 days and 8 nights’ residence on our wards, and 7 outpatient visits. Groups starting 25 August 2022.
