Healthy men needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating communication difficulties and sleep problems linked to autism. You must be 18 to 55, and not have used any nicotine products in the last 3 months. The study involves one lumbar puncture and polysomnography, and it consists in 1 session of 16 nights’ residence in our wards and 3 outpatient visits. Starts 29 January 2021.

Healthy men and women needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating the build-up of scar tissue in the kidney. You must be aged 18 to 55 years and have a BMI between 18 and 32. Vegetarians and smokers of up to 10 cigarettes (or equivalent) per day are allowed. The study involves 5 nights’ residence on our wards and 7 outpatient visits. Groups starting 18, 25, 26 and 27 January 2021.

Healthy Caucasian men and women needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AATD). You must be 18 to 65 years old and a non-smoker for at least 30 days before the start of trial.  Vegetarians are allowed. If you’re a woman able to have a baby, you must have an IUD, IUS or a contraceptive implant. The study involves 3 nights’ residence in our wards and 1 follow-up. Groups starting  02 and 04 February 2021

Men and postmenopausal or sterilised women who have osteoarthritis of the knee needed for the study of a potential new medicine to treat the condition. You must be 40 to 75 years old and have a BMI between 19 and 34.9. Vegetarians and smokers are allowed. The study involves 4 screenings, 18 study visits, 2 additional visits for Covid-19 tests, and 1 telephone call.  Start date to be confirmed.

Healthy men needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating Parkinson’s disease. You must be aged 18 to 55 and must not have used any nicotine products for at least 6 months. Vegetarians are allowed. The study involves 7 nights’ residence on our wards and 6 outpatient visits, including 2 MRI scans and 2 lumbar punctures.  Starting date to be confirmed.

Healthy men and women needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating atopic dermatitis. You must be aged 18 to 55 and vegetarians are allowed. Smokers are also allowed but they can’t use nicotine containing products while in the ward. The study involves 2 screening visits, 4 nights' residence on our wards and 6 outpatient visits.  Start date to be confirmed.

Healthy people who vape (using e-cigarettes or e-liquids containing nicotine) are needed for a study of a marketed medicine that can help smokers also could help e-cigarette users to control their cravings. You must be aged 19 to 55 and if you also smoke, be willing to stop smoking for 9 days. The study involves 1 screening visit, and residence in our modern wards for 2 days and 1 night. Groups starting weekly until June 2021

Healthy volunteers needed for the study of a potential new treatment for coeliac disease. You must be aged 18 to 50 and not have used any nicotine products in the last 6 months. You must weigh at least 40 kg and have a BMI between 18.5 and 29.9. Vegetarians are allowed.  The study involves 1 session of 3 nights’ residence on our wards and 1 follow-up. Groups starting 25 and 27 January 2021

You must be 18 to 55 years old; smokers of up to 10 cigarettes per day are allowed. If you’re a woman who’s able to have a baby, you must have an IUD, IUS or a contraceptive implant. The study involves 3 nights’ residence in our wards, 2 outpatient visits, and 1 follow-up. Last group starts 25 January 2021

People with mild or moderate asthma who use only a short acting reliever inhaler needed for the study of a potential new treatment for severe asthma. You must be at least 21 years old and, if you're a woman, you must be postmenopausal, sterillised or have an IUD fitted. The trial involves 2 screening visits, 5 sessions of 2 nights' residence and 1 session of 1 night's residence. In addition, men attend 2 outpatient visits, and women attend 3. Start time TBC
