Healthy people needed for the study of a potential new medicine for Alzheimer’s disease. You must be aged 18 to 64 and not have used any nicotine products in the last 3 months.  Vegetarians and vegans are allowed. If you’re able to have a baby, you must have an IUD or IUS. Postmenopausal, surgically sterilised, women who have only same-sex relationships or truly abstinent are also allowed. The study involves 4 nights’ residence on our wards and 1 follow-up appointment. Groups starting on 12, 19, 24 and 26 Jan 2023.

£3,250 in partial payments

People with mild to moderate plaque-type psoriasis needed for the study of a potential new medicine to treat the condition. You must be aged 18 to 65 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis for at least 6 months. Smokers of up to 20 cigarettes or equivalent per day allowed. It involves 1 session of 4 nights’ residence and 9 outpatient visits, over 3 months. Study ongoing and groups starting regularly.

Healthy volunteers needed for the study of ibogaine, a potential new medicine for treating the symptoms of drug withdrawal. You must be aged 18 to 55, have a BMI between 18 and 28, and have taken at least 1 hallucinogenic drug. Women need to be postmenopausal or surgically sterilised. It involves 3 screenings including an MRI scan, 7 nights’ residence on our wards and 1 follow-up. Groups starting regularly until February 2023.

£5,200 + reasonable travel expenses

Asthmatics who are otherwise in general good health needed for the study of a potential new medicine to treat the condition. You must be aged 18 to 55 and not have used any nicotine products in the last year.  The study involves 2 screenings, 3 sessions of 2 days and 1 night’s residence on our wards, and 17 outpatient visits over approximately 9 months. Study ongoing.

People with summer hayfever caused by grass pollen needed for the study of a potential new medicine to treat the condition. You must be 18 to 65 years of age and have a BMI between 19 and 30 Kg/m2.  You must be a non-smoker/not have used nicotine containing products or at least 6 months. The trial involves 8 outpatient visits, over 12 weeks. Study ongoing. 

People with Parkinson’s disease needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating the condition. You must be aged 35 to 75 and have a BMI between 18 and 30.  If you're a woman and able to have a baby you must have an IUD or IUS fitted. Smokers of up to 5 cigarettes per week or equivalent are allowed. The study involves 17 nights’ residence on our wards and 2 outpatient visits. Study ongoing.

Healthy volunteers aged 18 to 65 needed for the study of a potential new treatment for chronic conditions. If you’re a woman able to have a baby, you must have an IUD, IUS or contraceptive implant. Vegetarians and smokers of up to 10 cigarettes per day (or equivalent) are allowed. The study involves 4 nights’ residence on our wards and 5 outpatient visits. Groups starting end of January 2023.

People with stable cardiovascular disease and in general good health needed for the study of an experimental new medicine for treating high levels of Lp(a). You must be aged 18 to 70 years old and have a BMI between 18 and 45. We’ll first take a blood sample from you to check your levels of Lp(a). The trial involves 2 sessions of 3 nights’ residence on our wards and 10 outpatient visits, over 8 months. Study ongoing.

Healthy volunteers needed for the study of an experimental new medicine for treating C3 glomerulopathy, a rare kidney disease. You must be 18 to 65 years old, and not have used nicotine products in the last month. Vegetarians allowed. Women able to have a baby must have a contraceptive implant, IUD or IUS. It involves 2 screening/pre-vaccination visits,  3 nights’ residence on our wards and 6 outpatient visits. Study ongoing.

£3,700 + reasonable travel expenses

People with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) needed for the study of a potential new treatment to treat the condition. You must be 18 to 65 years old; Vegetarians and smokers are allowed. The study involves 2 screening visits, 1 session of 3 nights’ residence on our wards, 2 sessions of 2 nights' residence, and 13 outpatient visits over approximately 5 months. Study ongoing.

Healthy volunteers needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treatment resistant depression. You must be 25 to 55 and never used psychedelic substances before. If you’re able to have a baby, you must have an IUD, IUS or ‘coil’. Postmenopausal, surgically sterilised, or women who have only same-sex relationships also allowed. It involves 2 nights’ residence, 3 outpatient visits, and 1 video call. Admissions on 7, 8 and 15 December 2022.
