Healthy men needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). You must be 18 to 55 and not have used nicotine containing products for at least one year. Vegetarians are allowed. The trial involves 1 session of 3 nights’ residence and 1 follow-up visit. Groups starting  29 and 30 September 2021

Healthy men and women needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating COVID-19. You must be 18 to 65 years old, with a BMI between 18 and 35, and not have used any nicotine products in the last 3 months. If you are a woman who’s able to have a baby, you must have an IUD, IUS or a contraceptive implant. The study involves 4 nights’ residence on our wards and 9 outpatient visits. Groups starting  weekly throughout September 2021

Healthy men needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating problems with brain function associated with schizophrenia. You must be aged 18 to 45 and not have used any nicotine products in the last 3 months. Vegetarians are allowed but must be willing to consume capsules containing gelatin. The study involves 3 nights’ residence on our wards and 1 follow-up visit. Groups starting 5, 10 and 14 October 2021

Healthy people who vape (using e-cigarettes or e-liquids containing nicotine) needed to study if a marketed medicine that can help smokers, also could help e-cigarette users to control their cravings. You must be aged 18 to 65 and if you also smoke, be willing to stop smoking for 9 days. The study involves 1 screening visit, and residence in our modern wards for one day and one night. Groups ongoing until October 2021.

Healthy volunteers needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating symptoms of illnesses that affect the brain. You must be aged 18 to 50, weigh more than 60 kg and not have used any nicotine products for at least 3 months. If you’re a woman who is able to have a baby, you must have an IUD or an IUS (coil). The study involves 3 sessions of 4 nights’ residence on our wards and 1 follow-up. Starts 27 September 2021.

Healthy men needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). You must be 18 to 55 years old, weigh more than 50 kg and have a BMI between 17.5 and 30.5. Vegetarians and smokers of up to 5 cigarettes or 3 grams of tobacco per day are allowed. The study involves 9 days and 8 nights’ residence on our wards, and 7 outpatient visits. Groups starting  27 September and  4 and 11 October 2021.

You must be aged 18 to 50, have a BMI from 19 to 30 kg/m2, and not have used any nicotine containing products for at least 6 months. The study involves 8 nights’ residence on our wards and 1 follow-up.  Next group starts 27 September 2021.

Healthy men and postmenopausal or sterilised women needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating neuropathic pain. You must healthy, aged 18 to 65, and have a BMI between 18.5 and 29.9. You must not have used any nicotine products for at least 6 months and vegetarians are allowed. The trial involves 3 nights’ residence on our wards and 2 follow-up phone calls. Groups starting on 28 September, and 6 and 7 October 2021

Healthy volunteers needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating certain types of autoimmune diseases. You must be healthy, aged 18 to 65, weigh less than 50 Kg and have a BMI between 18 and 32 kg/m2. Vegetarians and light smokers are allowed. The trial involves 5 nights’ residence on our wards and 9 outpatient visits. Next groups start on 29 September and 4 and 10 October 2021.

People who have depression needed for a study in which DMT is being developed as an experimental new treatment for this condition. You must be at least 18 years old and have a BMI between 18 and 30.9. Vegetarians, vegans and smokers are allowed. The study involves 2 sessions of 2 nights’ residence on our wards, 1 follow-up visit, and 4 follow-up phone or video calls. Starts in late September 2021.

Healthy volunteers needed to help find a treatment for Alpha-1-Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD). You must have one or two copies of the Z mutation (PiXZ). We’ll do a blood test to check if you do. You must be 18 to 72 years old and not have used any nicotine products for at least 1 month. The study involves 2 sessions of 2 nights’ residence in our wards and 10 outpatient visits, over 2 months. Trial ongoing.  

Healthy men needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating communication difficulties and sleep problems linked to autism. You must be 18 to 55, and not have used any nicotine products in the last 3 months. The study involves polysomnography, and it consists in 1 session of 16 nights’ residence in our wards and 3 outpatient visits. Next groups start on 22 and 29 October, and 5 November 2021

Men and postmenopausal or sterilised women who have osteoarthritis of the knee needed for the study of a potential new medicine to treat the condition. You must be 40 to 75 years old and have a BMI between 19 and 34.9. Vegetarians and smokers are allowed. The study involves 4 screenings, 18 study visits, 2 additional visits for Covid-19 tests, and 1 telephone call.  Study ongoing

Healthy men needed for the study of a potential new medicine for treating Parkinson’s disease. You must be aged 18 to 55 and must not have used any nicotine products for at least 6 months. Vegetarians are allowed. The study involves 7 nights’ residence on our wards and 6 outpatient visits, including 2 MRI scans and 2 lumbar punctures.  Groups starting on 4, 5, 11 and 12 October 2021.
